Director, Brand


The Director, Brand will develop sound marketing strategies designed to increase market share; implement cohesive marketing initiatives that drive traffic online and offline while strengthening the value of the brand; evaluate and analyze the results of each initiative along with any recommendations for future enhancements; articulate the entire process to executive team; facilitate synergy between Disney Online Studio products and marketing initiatives; collaborate on the design of innovative merchandise and external projects; provide leadership for all marketing related programs and staff.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Research, develop, and implement a Brand and Communication strategy, standards, and practices company-wide that elicit the behaviour, emotion and recognition objectives of Disney Online Studios Canada and all products.

Lead all aspects of the customer acquisition and retention process, using analytics and modeling to support membership marketing.

Develop key messages for all audiences to communicate core brand identity/ies.

Lead agencies and internal team members to execute all communication activities and public relations (marketing materials, advertising, client communications, marketing campaigns, press releases, content for publications, etc.).

Work closely with the Manager, Web and Manager, Brand to ensure messaging is consistent with overall marketing and communication objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.

Provide regular reporting to the VP, and other executives, including both historical reports and forward looking.

Collaborate with Disney marketing team to ensure branding and marketing initiatives, strategy, standards, and practices are consistent.

Plan and administer DOSC’s marketing operations budget in collaboration with the finance department.

Develop a process for marketing analysis/ research. Conduct/oversee thorough analysis and provide regular reports to the executive team and appropriate Disney marketing stakeholders.

Identify marketing and audience development innovations, and provide leadership and direction in implementing these innovations.

Build, lead, mentor, and support the marketing/ brand team. Partake in the recruiting/hiring process as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

Post secondary degree required. Education in marketing, including communications and statistics, preferred.

10+ years professional marketing experience.

5+ years experience leading a marketing team.

Experience with online marketing, membership marketing and management, marketing analytics and modeling, and partnership management and development.

Experience in the gaming industry and/or children’s entertainment industry a definite asset.

Knowledge of global markets a definite asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Mac computers, and internet browsers.

Fluent in English.
